Gut & digestion
Your digestion has been a problem for a long time.
Read more →Bloating is one of those symptoms people are told to live with. It gets attributed to a food, then another food, then stress, and the list of things to avoid grows while the bloating stays roughly where it was.
If you’ve already cut out a lot and it hasn’t settled, the food probably isn’t the whole story.
You don’t need to fit neatly into a diagnostic box to deserve a proper investigation.
An IBS label describes the symptom pattern rather than accounting for it, which is why it can sit unchanged for years. The useful questions are usually about sequence: what came first, what came with it, and what was happening in your life at the time. Those answers don’t show up on a test.
I investigate the whole picture, not just the loudest symptom.
Online from anywhere in Australia, or in clinic at Willow & Saige in Warrnambool. The fee is $135, the same either way. There’s nothing to prepare beyond bringing your history, any previous results you have, and your questions.
Where something in your history warrants medical investigation, I’ll tell you and refer you back to your GP. This works alongside your existing care, not instead of it.
Your digestion has been a problem for a long time.
Read more →You’re exhausted, and nobody can tell you why.
Read more →The symptoms are connected. Nobody has connected them.
Read more →I can take a full history, look at your digestive symptoms in the context of everything else, and work from there. No promises about outcome. If anything in your history suggests a medical investigation is warranted, that’s what I’ll recommend.
That’s the question the consultation exists to investigate, and it isn’t one I can answer honestly from a web page — it depends entirely on your history, your timeline and what else is going on. What I can say is that when bloating persists despite extensive dietary restriction, the food is rarely the whole picture.
That’s a decision for your GP, not me. If your history includes anything that warrants medical investigation, I’ll tell you plainly and refer you back rather than work around it.
That’s common, and it’s useful information rather than a failure. What it responded to, and what it didn’t, tells us something worth knowing.
Forty-five minutes, one to one with me, online or in clinic. The time is the point — this isn’t a picture you can take in a ten-minute appointment.
You don’t need to have all the answers before you book. That’s what the first consultation is for.
